I collect postcards. I am an artist. This blog showcases both hobbies.

a dying breed

Went to buy postcard stamps today and the postal clerk said "wow postcard stamps? Let me see if we have any.... I haven't seen anyone mail a postcard in a very long time, didn't know people did that anymore. Kind of like pen pals."

I explained I did a post card exchange as I was a collector.

Sad that it is a dying hobby. I love the efficiency of email and the internet but I find art, tradition, ritual in writing and sending post cards...let alone of course I collect them because I, well, do.

Glad for postcrossing.com so that my simple hobby can flourish.

been awhile...

Belarus- I like this one a lot, very historical! Bonn Germany, I recall that building type when I was in Austria

Route 66, I've been on parts of it as it begins near where I live.

Russia St. Petersburg. Neat, cause' all I had of Russia was Moscow.

NH- I've been there 3 or 4 times and missplaced my postcards from there, so I was glad to receive one. It is a lovely state and I even almost moved there once!

Also, I no longer need any Utah cards as I bought some on my trip.

Thanks to those who sent me cards,

it has been quite some time since I received them and they're now all snug into their album so I don't recall who sent them but thank you again!
